Scheduled Outage

1. Sharepoint "Read Only"

From approximately 1000 (AEST) Monday 4 Jul 16, all Sharepoint databases will be switched to "read only". This is in order to prepare data for migration from the extant Sharepoint 2010 environment into the new Sharepoint 2013 instance environment. From this time until Friday 15 Jul 16 no changes will be able to be made on any intranet site. Access to view the intranet sites will be retained up until 1600 (AEST) on Sunday 10 Jul 16.

2. CadetNet "Block out"

A complete system outage, including email, will be in place from 1600 (AEST) Sunday 10 Jul 16 until Friday 15 Jul 16. This is required in order to migrate the V4 system from its existing datacentre to the new V5 datacentre environment.
During this time, all emails into the CadetNet / Armycadets / Navycadets / Airforcecadets domains will be stored (queued) and released into the V5 system once it is available.

3. Patching

Known patching date is the 21 July 2016.

This occurs on the Thursday following the third Tuesday of the month. CadetNet Users may have limited access or be unable access services during these outage periods.

Further outage times are only available when we are advised.

Known Issues

1. When using the Firefox browser and on some Andriod devices users may experience a certificate issue. In this case it is recommended to allow the SSL certificate exception in the browser or if possible use another browser.

CadetNet public websites - Home Portal, ANC and ANC.

Uses of the Firefox browser may experience a certificate issued upon navigating to CadetNet. This is a known issue. Users are advised to click the add exception button in Firefox to proceed.

Users of Webmail are encouraged to clean out their mailboxes regularly. This includes sent mail and deleted items.

The current forum software will be replaced by a new solution in V5. Please contact your ICT staff for more details.

Broadband

Communications platform for the ADF Cadets 

Units with active "3G" connections are advised these services will soon be switched off and replaced with "4G" services. Please make contact with your Cadet ICT staff for more information if you have not been contacted already for a replacement device.
